What is Marble Countertops Protective Film?
Specialized surface protection for polished stone during cutting, polishing, storage, transport and on-site installation.
Most marble countertop and tile surface damage at handover occurs in the final 48 hours of a construction project — when tile setters, carpenters, and cleaning crews work in overlap. The real sourcing question is not whether to use film, but which film removes cleanly: polished marble is highly sensitive to adhesive residue, and once residue hardens, solvent cleaning carries a real risk of dulling the gloss finish.
Plashield marble protective film offers two technology lines. PE film uses low-to-medium tack acrylic PSA with peel force 80–250 g/25mm (180° angle) — for polished marble, granite, and quartz countertop protection during indoor storage and construction. TPH film provides higher base-material toughness with elongation at break ≥450% — for countertop slab shipping, stair tread protection under foot traffic, and bridge saw cutting processes where standard PE tears at stone edges or is pierced by tool contact.
Both film types are compatible with polished, honed, and selected textured stone surfaces. Available in widths 300–2000mm and thickness 50–150μm, with custom logo printing and branded carton packaging — currently exported to stone wholesalers and construction contractors in Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and 60+ other countries.
Suitable for:
Polished marble and granite tiles
Large stone slabs and panels
Quartz and artificial stone countertops
Interior stone floors and wall cladding
Key Performance Features
Designed around the real needs of stone fabricators, installers and contractors.
PE — PE film: low-to-medium tack (80–250 g/25mm at 180°), 100% virgin PE, elongation ≥300%; TPH film: medium-to-high tack (200–450 g/25mm), elongation ≥450%, puncture resistance significantly higher than single-layer PE
Resistant to moisture, dust, cement slurry splash, and common construction solvents including mineral spirits and paint thinner — for multi-trade construction site environments
Compatible with polished (Ra ≤0.1μm), honed, and selected textured stone — low tack for polished to minimize residue risk; medium-to-high tack for honed and textured to prevent edge lifting
Zero adhesive residue on polished marble and granite at removal — adhesive formulation validated by 24-hour dwell peel test and 7-day accelerated aging; no hardening at storage temperatures up to 45°C
Available in transparent, white, blue, or custom-printed versions for rapid on-site identification of stone type and film specification
Compatible with manual application, roller applicators, and automatic stone protection lines — roll length and core specification customizable per equipment requirement

Why Choose Plashield for Stone Protection?
A dedicated protective film brand from Tianrun, serving stone, metal, glass and flooring industries worldwide.
Plashield marble film has been validated on four primary stone surface types: polished marble (Ra ≤0.1μm), granite, quartz countertops, and engineered stone. PE low-tack formulation maintains peel force at 80–150 g/25mm on polished marble after 7-day dwell with zero residue at removal. TPH high-toughness formulation shows no edge lifting or film rupture after countertop slab transport simulation testing (35-day sea freight vibration profile). Figures are from production batch QC records, not sample-only testing.
Factory in Xinxiang, Henan Province, in continuous operation since 2004. 8+ coating and slitting lines covering both PE and TPH technology, 200 million m² annual capacity. Coating thickness precision ±0.5%; slitting width accuracy ±1mm (range: 300–2000mm). ISO 9001 certified across the full production process. Each batch ships with peel force, coating uniformity, appearance, and dimensional inspection records. SGS third-party test reports available on request for export market supplier qualification requirements.
Customizable parameters: film width 300–2000mm, thickness 50–150μm, tack level (low / medium / high), color (transparent / white / blue / brand-specified), and logo printing. Branded carton production (including custom full-color print) runs concurrently with film production — total lead time is not extended by the packaging workflow. An all-in-one supply arrangement — custom-color film, logo cartons, and export protective packaging — has been delivered to a Brazilian marble wholesaler at approximately USD 40,000/year since August 2023.

Film Styles & Options for Marble & Stone
Standard PE Marble Film
Low-to-medium tack PE film (peel force 80–150 g/25mm), 50–70μm, for polished marble and granite tile protection during indoor storage, factory stacking, and installation. Clean removal with zero residue after 7-day dwell on polished surfaces — the primary selection criterion for high-gloss stone, ahead of price.
High-Adhesion PE Film for Vertical Surfaces
Medium-to-high tack PE film (peel force 200–300 g/25mm) for vertical wall stone cladding and small edge strip pieces — standard low-tack films slide off vertical surfaces under gravity and construction vibration. Adhesive formulation also validated on honed and lightly textured stone with zero residue at removal.
Heavy-Duty TPH Film for Slabs & Steps
TPH high-toughness film, elongation ≥450%, 80–150μm thick, peel force 200–450 g/25mm. Engineered for three high-risk scenarios:
① marble countertop slab sea freight (preventing panel-to-panel abrasion and edge chipping inside containers)
② stair tread protection under continuous construction foot traffic before project handover
③ tool contact resistance during bridge saw cutting operations. TPH substrate does not tear at stone edges the way standard PE film does.
Printed OEM Film
Client logo, contact details, or brand color printed on film surface; registration accuracy ±0.1mm, batch-to-batch color tolerance ΔE ≤ 1.5. Two practical values:
① Stone wholesalers shipping to distributor networks — branded film enables distributors to identify the supplier instantly at warehouse receiving;
② Stone installation contractors using printed film on-site — owner and head contractor see the contractor’s brand throughout the build period, generating passive brand visibility.
Custom Formulations
Beyond standard SKUs, we develop custom adhesive formulations based on the client’s actual substrate samples. Common custom requests:
① Dedicated low-tack formulation for PVD-coated stone surfaces (PVD finishes are more susceptible to adhesive transfer than standard polished faces)
② Heat-stable adhesive for high-temperature bridge saw cutting processes
③ Extra-wide roll configurations for large-format slabs (≥1600mm). Custom samples typically delivered within 10–15 business days with an actual peel force data sheet.
Application Scenarios
Protect stone surfaces at every stage—from quarry block to finished interior.
Protection during sawing, grinding and polishing to reduce micro-scratches and edge chipping.
Keeps dust, stain and abrasion away when slabs and tiles are stacked or stored on racks.
Prevents rub marks and surface damage during loading, unloading and long-distance transport.
Shields stone floors, stairs and countertops from tools, materials and worker traffic.
Ideal for protecting existing marble floors and countertops during interior remodeling and painting.
