Client Requirements
- PE film for carpet, hard floor, and glass/mirror surfaces — 1.5″ consumer-format cores, not 3″ industrial bulk rolls
- Retail display box with full-color print and professional surface finish — matte or gloss laminate, not plain cardboard
- Three SKUs with distinct widths, adhesion levels, and tint options consolidated under a single purchase order
- Logo printing with color consistency under supermarket fluorescent lighting and repeated shelf handling
- Production schedule timed to their retail stock cycle — their previous 45-day lead time was already creating restocking gaps
- One supplier for all three SKUs: no split sourcing, no fragmented quality documentation, no separate inbound shipments
- RoHS and REACH compliance documentation required before shipment for European retail channel listing
Why the Customer Chose Us
The display box was the deciding factor. Producing PE film is one capability; designing, sampling, and delivering retail display packaging around it is another — and most film factories only do one. When the first sample box arrived, the client’s purchasing manager said it looked more professional than comparable products from European suppliers at more than twice the price. That reaction had nothing to do with the film formula.
Lead time was the second factor. Their previous supplier was running at 45 days — too slow for seasonal restocking in a retail environment where stockouts cost shelf listings, not just individual sales. We provided a confirmed 25-day production schedule before the order was placed: a Gantt chart they could review, not a verbal assurance.
Plashield has manufactured PE protective film for export since 2004 — over 20 years of supplying distributors across European retail, construction, and trade channels. This client wasn’t our first in Ireland. Their team confirmed that our existing familiarity with EU retail compliance requirements — packaging labeling, RoHS/REACH documentation, EAN barcode standards — reduced their onboarding process significantly.
Sample turnaround was also a factor. We delivered the first film and display box samples within 8 business days of spec confirmation — both produced concurrently, not sequentially. That compressed the client’s pre-order evaluation timeline by roughly three weeks compared to running film and packaging samples through separate vendors.
Consolidating three SKUs under one supplier eliminated overhead that doesn’t appear on a unit price comparison: separate quality documents, separate inbound logistics coordination, and separate production follow-ups for each film type. The per-unit price wasn’t the lowest option they found. The total sourcing cost was.
Solutions Provided
Low-tack PE carpet film (approx. 50μm, 600–1000mm widths, 1.5″ core), medium-tack hard floor film, and low-tack glass/mirror film — adhesion level for each SKU specified and lab-tested before production start
Custom retail display boxes designed, sampled, and delivered within 8 business days — full-color matte laminate finish, EAN-13 barcode positioning, carton dimensions matched to client’s retail partner shelf allocation
Unified logo-printed PE film across all three SKUs — brand color consistency under supermarket lighting confirmed at sample review stage, before mass production
Three-SKU production consolidated into a single 25-day schedule — down from 45 days, with RoHS/REACH compliance documentation and SGS test reports included in the export package
